About Me
Welcome to Lactating Mamas of Long Island! I'm Sandy, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Registered Nurse, and a mother, proudly serving families throughout Long Island.
I have proudly invested 10 years as a nurse, caring for families during some of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments of their lives. My background includes working as a NICU nurse, postpartum nurse, and I am Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN) certified. But beyond my clinical experience I understand this work on a deeply personal level- because I've been there too.
Feeding a baby can be filled with hope, love and connection- and also doubt, tears, exhaustion, and pressure. Many parents come to me feeling overwhelmed or wondering if they're doing something wrong. If that's you, please know this: You are not failing. You are learning, and you deserve support.
My approach is gentle, judgment-free, and rooted in both science and compassion. I take the time to truly listen, to understand your story, and meet you exactly where you are. Together, we create a feeding plan that feels realistic, supportive, and aligned with your goals- whether that means breastfeeding, pumping, combination feeding, or supplementation.
I offer in-home and virtual lactation consultations because I believe support should feel accessible, safe, and personal. My goal is not perfection- its confidence, reassurance, and helping you feel supported during this tender season of motherhood. It would be an honor to support you and your baby.

In-Home Visits
Experience personalized care with our in-home lactation consultations. Our Registered Nurse and IBCLC will assess your breastfeeding journey, provide hands-on assistance, and create a tailored plan to address your specific needs.
Overnight Nurse Support
In-home overnight care to assist with night time feedings, establishing breastfeeding, milk supply, and newborn care, so parents can rest while receiving expert guidance and hands-on support. Please contact us for more details and availability.
